The Taurus World Stunt Awards, organized by the Taurus World Stunt Academy, will be held on 25th September, in Los Angeles, US. House of Flying Daggers, a production by the internationally renowned director Zhang Yi Mou and a collaboration between Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland elite filmmakers, is nominated for the "Best Fight" award, competing against Hollywood blockbusters Troy, The Pacifier, Kill Bill vol. 2 and The Bourne Supremacy.
In additional, Jackie Chan, who has made a name in Hollywood by Rush Hour, is nominated for the "Best Action in a Foreign Film" with his Hong Kong production New Police Story. Other nominees in this category include Der Clown (Germany), Lasko (Germany), Hotet (Sweden) and Peligrosa Obsession (Argentine).
It should be noted that Jackie Chan has already won a few awards last year with his Rush Hour 2. The awards included the "Best Fight", the "Best High Work" and the "Best Specialty Stunt". Jackie Chan being nominated again with the Hong Kong movie New Police Story and Zhang Yi Mou's House of Flying Daggers being a candidate for the "Best Fight" award this year reaffirms the significance of Chinese action movies in the global film industry.
