Hong Kong star Jackie Chan has been nominated as one of the five candidates of the Best Actor of the 25th China Golden Rooster, professional film prizes in China.
This is the first time actors from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are allowed to compete for the personal prizes.
The nomination list for the prize was released by the China Film Association (CFA) in Beijing Friday.
All the 16 prizes of the new Golden Rooster will come out at the 14th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, which is scheduled in the coastal city of Sanya in south China's Hainan Province from November 9 to 12, according to Kang Jianmin, executive vice president of the CFA, the organizer.
Zhang Side directed by Yin Li, On Mt. Taihang by Wei Lian, Shen Dong and Chen Jian and Kekexili Mountain Patrol by Lu Chuan, won eight, seven and seven award nominations respectively.
Li Bingbing, Zhang Jingchu, Jin Yaqin and Mei Ting will vie forthe Best Actress, while Lu Chuan and Yin Li, who were the two "Best Directors" of Hua Biao, the Chinese government film prize, will contend again.
The Golden Rooster opened for the non-mainland film professionals for the first time this year while Jackie Chan became a hot man by starring in the New Police Story, also a nomination for the Best Feature Film.
Three film exhibitions, at which newly-released mainland-made films, films from Hong Kong and Taiwan, and films made by other countries, and a forum on the development of Chinese film industry in the last 100 years, will be held at the four-day festival, Kang said.
