Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi was recently invited to "Golden Coconut Week", or the First International TV Ad Awards, in south China's tourist city of Sanya.
Zhang was named "Honorary Citizen of Sanya" by Mayor Lu Zhiyuan, and she also received the Award of Achievement at the ceremony held Sunday.
The multiple award-winning actress received record pay in Japan for 100 million Yen, or over US$850,000, for ads for her latest film, this year's Memoirs of A Geisha.
Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung and South Korean singer Kang Ta also attended the grand ceremony, taking home the Most Valuable People Awards.
