The newly-built China Film Museum will open to the public on Thursday in memory of the centennial of the Chinese film.
The museum, designed by the RTKL International Ltd. and the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design and at the cost of 550 million yuan (about US$69 million), is located at northeastern part of Beijing and covers nearly 2.5 hectares.
Film posts and the logos of the museum will be exhibited in total 21 exhibition halls, involving more than 1,500 films and 4,000 pictures, said Zhao Dongming, who is in charge of the museum.
The museum will screen newly-released films at lower prices than on the market on allowance of distributors, he said.
