The Chinese film You and Me, which received the Best Actress Award at the Tokyo Film Festival, will hit Chinese cinemas this Friday.
The film premiered at the China Film Cinema Wednesday with director Ma Liwen and the 84-year-old actress Jin Yaqin meeting audiences.
The film You and Me is the story of an old woman and a girl at a little Siheyuan.
The story begins with a girl who is looking for a place to stay and by chance intrudes in an old woman's tatty Siheyuan on a snowing night. The story ends with her becoming a friend to the old woman in her last days.
The film only cost 2.2 million yuan, or about US$275 thousand, but has received several film awards at home and abroad.
