The 25th Hong Kong Film Awards, best known to Chinese people as Chinese Oscars, was held on Saturday night with the attendance of hottest stars from both home and Asian countries, including China's most popular stars Zhang Ziyi and Zhang Jingchu, and South Korean actress Jeon Ji-hyun.
Hong Kong director Jonnie To's crime film Election was no doubt the biggest winner, by taking in four heavyweight awards of Best Director, Best Play, Best Actor and Best Film Award.
This year's Best Actress Award went to Chinese mainland actress Zhou Xun for her outstanding performances in director Peter Chan's musical film Perhaps Love, while Hong Kong veteran actor Tony Leung Ka Fai won Best Actor Award for his role in director Jonnie To's gangster film Election.
Taiwan pop singer and actor Jay Chou pocketed Best New Comer Award for his maiden film Initial D, which also bagged Best Supporting Actor Award for Hong Kong actor Anthony Wong.
