The film Shanghai Red, produced by Oscar L. Costo and Junmei Wu, will have two rounds of special shows at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
The story is about a modern Shanghai woman's especially difficult experience that took place in a high-speed modern commercial city. Zhu Meili (played by Junmei Wu) is caught in a web of vengeance and deceit.
The film brought together excellent Chinese and American movie workers, including Hollywood Director Oscar L.Costo, art designer Jeff Knipp and photographer Adam Kane. The top performers are Richard Burgi, Junmei Wu, You Ge and Honglei Sun.
The movie has gotten outstanding positive feedback on its display of modern China. Audiences have given high marks for the quality of acting, especially that of Junmei Wu and Honglei Sun.
