Young Chinese director Ning Hao's film Crazy Stone, one of the "New Asian Director" film projects invested in by Andy Lau, will open in Chinese cinemas at the end of the month.
Before the national release, audiences in Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing and Changsha will have an opportunity to win a free ticket at a top-grade cinema in each city by filling out a questionnaire. They will also receive a DVD of the film signed by Andy Lau and Ning Hao if they finish a film review after the screening.
Co-produced by Warner China Film HG, Beijing-based Concord Creation International and Andy Lau's Hong Kong production company Focus Films, the picture is a wisecracking caper comedy about a group of bumbling thieves who have their eyes set on stealing a precious stone.
The comedy premiered Monday during the Shanghai International Film Festival. In attendance were executive producer Lau, Ning and the cast.
The theatrical release will show on more than 300 screens June 30.
