1980s animation classic Gourd Brothers, or Hu Lu Xiong Di, is likely to be adapted into a live-action movie.

The Beijing News reports the Shanghai Animation Film Studio, producer of the cartoon, is planning to adapt the classics.

 

But the studio says the program has just begun and the director has yet to be decided. 　　

 

The popular animation series, which came out in 1987, is a paper-cut animated production weaving the Chinese folk handicraft into a cartoon design.
