Kabei to open HK int'l film fest
The annual Hong Kong International Film Festival has announced the opening and closing films for this year's event. They include the new Golden Bear contender, Yoji Yamada's "Kabei - Our Mother."

Slumped over in an orange, velvety sofa at a teahouse in Beijing's Sanlitun area, Wang Xiaoshuai appears both relaxed and spirited. The man, who is in his early 40s, is one of China's most active directors.

New Releases
This year's Rio International Film Festival, the largest of its kind in Latin America, has chosen China as its annual select of focus country. A total of 12 latest Chinese films and eight classic productions will be shown at the festival.
