The new film A World without Thieves started shooting Monday in Beijing.
The film is about a female petty thief acted by Rene Liu who tries to turn over a new leaf by protecting a naive country bumpkin from whom other thieves try to steal. Although reluctant at first, her boyfriend, acted by Andy Lau, also finally relents and helps her protect the country boy.
Shooting for the 40 million yuan A World without Thieves will be on location along the Gansu-Beijing railway line and is expected to wrap next year.
Feng Xiaogang previously directed and starred in the domestic blockbusters Cell Phone, Big Shot's Funeral, and Be There or Be Square.
