The sports round-table meeting of the ongoing Ninth Fortune Global Forum held in Beijing will help China's capital to learn from the world's latest research findings in development of Olympic Games, said Mayor Wang Qishan on Monday.
The sports round-table held on Monday is conducive to enhancing international exchange in sports and cooperation on sports-related industries, Wang Qishan told Xinhua.
Wang said that the meeting and all of the activities of the Fortune Global Forum are providing a good chance for Beijing to further improve its preparatory work for the 2008 Olympics.
During the three-day event, prestigious entrepreneurs and economists from abroad gather in Beijing and make the world focus on China's capital, thus helping people from all over the world to understand the city better, Wang said.
The 2008 Olympics requires concerted cooperation among transport, power supply, meteorological, tourism, health, public security and sports sectors and media, Wang Qishan said.
Meanwhile, the Games also demands for efficient infrastructure and modernized urban management, Wang continued.
To host the Fortune Global Forum successfully will enrich Beijing's experience in holding massive international exchange activities and upgrade the city's urban management and related services, the mayor added.
