S.Korea's Death Toll in Tsunami Increases to 11

The death toll of South Korean people in the tsunami in South Asian countries had risen to 11 as of Monday afternoon, according to the South Korean Foreign Ministry.

In a news advisory on its website, the ministry said nine South Korean people are still missing and 276 out of contact.

The new dead was an 11-year-old South Korean boy who previously classified as missing. His body was confirmed in Thailand by a forensic test, the ministry said.

Family members have reported 1,238 South Koreans were in the tidal wave-hit areas.

Meanwhile, (South) Korean National Red Cross (KNRC) sent a group of 11 relief workers to Aceh, Indonesia, on Monday.

Hundreds of South Korean relief workers from other organizations have already arrived in the tsunami-hit areas, including Indonesia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka, over the past week.
