Top political advisor Jia Qinglin on Monday urged members of advisory bodies to improve their inspection work of local governments.
Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), stressed that inspections in local areas are important ways of finding out facts.
He urged members of local political consultative conferences to go deep into the grass-roots levels to gather first-hand information about the implementation of government policies and the progress of major construction projects.
He urged them to report key issues they have found concerning local economic development and offer advices to promote social harmony.
