A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Saturday ordered judicial departments to pay greater efforts to ensure social stability and especially to solve "discordant elements" in the society at source.
Luo Gan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the country's political and legislative affairs, made this call as he concluded a three-day tour of eastern Shandong Province.
Luo visited the countryside, judicial offices, companies, and armed police barracks in cities of Jinan, Tai'an, and Linyi. He paid special attentions to how judicial offices in Tai'an solve disputes and provide legal counsel.
Luo urged local governments to try their best to resolve prominent problems in economic development and dissolve conflicts and other "discordant elements" at source.
He asked officials to care more about low-income families to ensure that all the people can equally enjoy the approaching Spring Festival.
