Euro-Asia Agricultural (Holdings) Ltd., a company controlled by Chinese-Dutch businessman Yang Bin, appointed a new chairman and acting chief executive following Yang's arrest by Chinese police.
The company named Chief Operating Officer Jacobus Lekkerkerk as executive director and chairman, and "redesignated Yang Bin as non-executive director and non-executive chairman," Euro-Asia said in a statement to the Hong Kong stock exchange. Rex Chiu, Euro-Asia's executive director of corporate development, was appointed acting chief executive officer.
