The 45th Chairman's Meeting of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held in Beijing Wednesday.
During the meeting, which was presided over by CPPCC National Committee Chairman Li Ruihuan and attended by 15 vice-chairpersons, it was decided that the 20th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Ninth CPPCC National Committee will be held from January 20-23, 2003.
A preliminary agenda for the 20th meeting of the Standing Committee was also put forward, which included convening the first session of the Tenth CPPCC National Committee early next year, and holding consultations to decide on the number and names of the members to the first session.
Participants in Wednesday's meeting also examined and approved in principle the report on the work of the Standing Committee of the Ninth CPPCC National Committee, which will be submitted to its 20th meeting for examination.
