China is accelerating the construction of public health infrastructure, the State Development and Reform Commission (SDRC) said in Beijing Tuesday.
In a televised meeting held by the SDRC and the Ministry of Health in Beijing, the SDRC asked all localities around China to increase investment in and accelerate the construction of medical facilities for public health emergencies and a nationwide network of disease prevention and control.
The SDRC will be in charge of planning and implementing the construction projects.
At the same time, the SDRC and the Ministry of Health are researching and drafting a plan for a medical system to deal with public health emergencies.
The SDRC and the Ministry of Health would dispatch inspection groups to supervise the progress of construction projects around the country, the SDRC said.
