Hong Kong Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa appointed Michael Wong Kin-chow as Chairman of the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) for three years with effect from August 1, 2003, a government release said Wednesday.
Wong was a retired Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal of the High Court.
Apart from his strong legal background, he has also been involved in community services including those relating to the disabled.
The chairman's post has been held by Anna Wu in the past four years.
Tung also appointed Patricia Chu Yeung Pak-yu and Nelson Chow Wing-sun as EOC Members for two years with effect from August 1, 2003.
The appointment notice will be gazetted on July 4.
