Central Government Allocates 10 Million Yuan for Quake-hit Areas

The Chinese central government has earmarked 10 million yuan (US$1.2 million) for disaster relief in quake-hit southwest China's Yunnan Province.

The earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale struck Dayao County of Yunnan Province at 8:28 p.m. Thursday. The death toll has risen to three, with 46 injured.

A strong quake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck the county earlier this July, killing more than 10 people.
