China will create a better environment for foreign investors by improving relevant policies and laws, said Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Wednesday.
Foreign investment has played an important role in the Chinese economy, Jia said at a forum held here Wednesday.
China has attracted the most foreign investment in the world after 25 years of economic reform and opening-up while overseas investors have been rewarded favorably here, he said.
China's development and stability will not only benefit the Chinese people, but also create a booming market and new business opportunities for the rest of the world, including developed countries, he said.
China will push forward the opening of the domestic market and reform domestic and international trade in line with the rules of a market economy and the World Trade Organization.
According to guidelines passed at the third plenary meeting of the Communist Party of China Central Committee held last October, the country will also improve the transparency of administration of foreign investment and create a fair legal environment for freer trade and investment.
