Vice President Meets FM of Bahamas

Vice President Zeng Qinghong met in Beijing Friday with Bahamas' Minister of Foreign Affairs Fred Mitchell.

 

Zeng reviewed the development of the China-Bahamas ties over the past eight years, saying that the exchanges and bilateral cooperation in politics, economy, trade, culture and media have yielded fruitful results.

 

The Chinese government values its relations with Bahamas and is ready to boost political mutual trust, economic mutual benefit and cultural mutual study on the five principles of peaceful co-existence, Zeng said.

 

Zeng also expressed China's appreciation to Bahamas for its adherence to the one-China policy.

 

Mitchell said Bahamas appreciates China's long-term assistance. He reiterated his country's stance on the one-China policy and said Bahamas hopes to deepen friendly ties with China in various fields.
