An exhibition featuring Chinese print artworks of the 20th century was inaugurated in Belgrade on Wednesday night, as part of the cultural exchange between China and Serbia-Montenegro.

"The history of China's woodblock prints dates back over two thousand years," said Wang Fuguo, political counselor of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade, while addressing the opening ceremony.

He said the 100 pieces of China's print artworks showcased in this exhibition are careful selections from thousands of Chinese prints over the 20th century.

Serbian Culture Minister Dusan Kojadinovic said the exhibition offers the local people with a window to learn about a great variety of print artworks and the changing life of the Chinese people during the 20th century.

The two-month exhibition was sponsored by the Yugoslav History Museum and the Chinese embassy in Belgrade. The opening ceremony was attended by some 100 people from all walks of life in Belgrade.
