The Chinese armed forces is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Cape Verde side in various fields, said a senior Chinese military official in Beijing on Thursday.
Liang Guanglie, chief of the general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) made remarks during the talks with his Cape Verde counterpart Antero Matos.
Liang told Matos that the Chinese armed forces attaches great importance to the relations with Cape Verde armed forces and the two countries as well as the two armed forces share traditional friendship and good relations.
Liang expressed his appreciation for Cape Verde's adherence to the one-China policy.
Matos said the people of Cape Verde had received great support from the Chinese people during their struggling for independence and Cape Verde thanked the Chinese government for its help and support.
He said the traditional friendship and relations between the two countries and two armed forces have been continuously consolidated since the two countries established diplomatic ties.
Matos arrived here Thursday for a seven-day official good-will visit to China as guest of Liang.
