China on Thursday said it is willing to work together with Chad to actively promote the bilateral cooperation in political, economic, trade, cultural, educational and public health fields.
Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing made the remarks in a meeting with a visiting Chad delegation, headed by Minister of State and Minister of Infrastructures Adoum Younousmi.
Li said it was not a long time since China and Chad resumed their diplomatic ties, but the bilateral relations are being restored rapidly.
A full restoration and further development of the friendly cooperation between the two countries are the common wishes of the two peoples, said Li, adding that China is willing to make joint efforts with Chad to bring the bilateral relationship on to a track of sustained and healthy development.
Younousmi said that since the resumption of the diplomatic ties, Chad has attached great importance to furthering its relations with China and is eager to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of economy and trade.
Younousmi said Chad wanted to see its cooperation with China bear fruits and make contribution to the welfare of the two peoples.
The delegation comprises senior officials of the Chad government including the minister of foreign affairs, minister of defense and minister of finance.
The delegation started to visit China on Thursday at the invitation of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
