Senior CPC Official Meets Surinamese Vice President

Senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Li Changchun met in Beijing Wednesday with Surinamese Vice President Ramdien Sardjoe, pledging to promote the development of China-Surinam relations.

 

Li said China attaches great importance to developing the friendly and cooperative relationship with Surinam and will make joint efforts with the Surinamese side to continuously boost such relationship on basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.

 

Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, expressed his appreciation of the Surinamese government's adherence to the one-China policy.

 

He also recalled his visit to Surinam in March, in which he met with Surinamese President Runaldo Ronald Venetiaan and Sardjoe.

 

Sardjoe said China has stable political environment and fast growing economy and Chinese people's life is improving.

 

He said Surinam will stick to the one-China policy and is ready to enhance friendship and strengthen cooperation with China along the road of economic and social development.

 

Sardjoe arrived in Beijing Sunday afternoon for his first official visit to China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Zeng Qinghong.

 

He held talks with Zeng on Tuesday and is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao Wednesday afternoon.

 

Sardjoe's six-day tour also covers northwest China's ancient city of Xi'an, northeastern coastal city of Dalian and Shanghai inthe east.
