A new audiotape of al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden was shown Thursday night on the Doha-based satellite TV al-Jazeera channel, in which he called for Europeans' back home from military contributions in Afghanistan.
The Europeans should stop helping the United States in the war in Afghanistan as the American tide is "ebbing", bin Laden said in the tape.
It was unjust for the Americans to have invaded Afghanistan, he said, accusing US forces and their allies of intentionally killing Afghan women and children.
He told Europeans that it is best for you to press your leaders to change their policies to leave back to your countries from Afghanistan.
The al-Qaida chief also claimed his responsibility for the Sept.11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington, saying that "the events of Manhattan were retaliation against the American-Israeli alliance's aggression against our people in Palestine and Lebanon."
It was said to be the fourth message by bin Laden this year.
