Vietnam opposes all separatist moves of Taiwan
Adjust font size:

Vietnam consistently pursues the one-China policy and opposes all attempts at an independent Taiwan in any form, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dung said on Thursday.

He made the remarks when asked about Vietnam's response to Taiwan's organization of a referendum on joining the United Nations, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

"Vietnam's stance on the Taiwan issue has repeatedly been confirmed and written down in joint declarations and joint communiques it signed with China," the spokesman said.

"Vietnam supports China's great cause of the reunification and opposes all separation actions that were aimed at an 'independent Taiwan' in any form, including the holding of a referendum for Taiwan's accession to the United Nations," he said.
