Chinese President Jiang Zemin and his wife will visit the United States this fall, at the invitation of US President George W. Bush and his wife, Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said Saturday.
In response to a question from the press, Kong said Jiang and his wife would visit the US before the tenth Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders Meeting in October this year.
President Jiang is looking forward to exchanging views with President Bush on Sino-US relations and some international and regional issues of mutual concern, the spokesman said.
The White House said Friday President Bush and his wife would be waiting for President Jiang and his wife on their Crawford ranch in Texas on October 25.
