8 Pilgrims Killed, 32 Injured in Kashmir
In the first major attack on Amarnath pilgrims, militants killed eight pilgrims and injured 32 others at a base camp at Nunwan near Pahalgam in the wee hours Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Despite heavy deployment of troops all along the pilgrimage route, the unidentified militants in Gujjar Attire made a dramatic appearance from a hillock at Nunwan camp, at 5:20 a.m., exploding grenades and firing randomly on the sleeping pilgrims, they said.

Eight pilgrims were killed and 32 others injured in the attack, the second within a week, local TV reported.
