At the invitation of Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji, Prime Minister Mikhail Mikhailovich Kasyanov of the Russian Federation will pay an official visit to China from Aug. 21 to 23.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Kong Quan announced this in Beijing Tuesday.
Kong said by then, Zhu and his visiting Russian counterpart will hold the 7th Regular Meeting between the two countries' prime ministers.
Before that, State Councilor Wu Yi, Chinese Chair of the Committee of the Prime Ministers' Regular Meeting, will meet with the Russian Chair, Vice-Prime Minister Khristenko to hold the Committee's 6th meeting in Shanghai to make preparations for the upcoming Regular Meeting between the two prime ministers, Kong said.
