Indonesia consistently adheres to the one-China policy and has long recognized Taiwan as an integral part of the People's Republic of China, the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong said Friday in a press release.
The government of Indonesia has not in anyway arranged for the visit of Annette Lu to Indonesia, certainly not in her supposed capacity as "Vice President" of an entity which names itself as "Republic of China", the consulate general said.
With respect to various reports regarding a visit by Annette Luto Indonesia, the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic ofIndonesia through its Consulate General in Hong Kong wishes to provide the clarification, the release said.
"Indonesia values highly its relations in all aspects with the People's Republic of China which have continued to strengthen, both bilaterally as well as within the context of closer interaction among countries in the region," said the press release.
"Indonesia also consistently adheres to the one-China policy and has long recognized Chinese Taipei as an integral part of the People's Republic of China. As a consequence of this basic position, the government of the Republic of Indonesia does not have diplomatic relations or official contacts with Chinese Taipei," the release said.
