Anti-terrorism Cooperation Becomes Important Part of Sino-US Ties
The fruitful cooperation between China and the United States in anti-terrorism areas has become an important part of their constructive and cooperative relations, Chinese Vice-Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing has said.

Li made these remarks at a memorial ceremony hosted by US Ambassador to China Clark T. Randt in Beijing Wednesday to mark the first anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

He once again expressed the condolences of the Chinese government and people for the victims and sympathy with their relatives.

"We strongly condemn such barbarian terrorist acts," he said, adding that both China and the US were victims of terrorism.

As Chinese President Jiang Zemin told US President George W. Bush in their phone conversation, the Chinese people, the US people and all just and peace-loving people worldwide stood on the same side in the struggle against terrorism.

China and the US had carried out fruitful cooperation in the war against terrorism over the past year and such cooperation had become an important part of bilateral relations, he said.

There was still a long way to go in the campaign against terrorism, he said.

China was ready to continue to support and strengthen cooperation with the US, the United Nations and the international community so as to guarantee the peace and security for all, he said.
