Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi is scheduled to arrive at Pyongyang's Sunan airport at around 9:15 a.m. (00:15 GMT) next Tuesday for his unprecedented visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Japanese Foreign Ministry said Friday.
Koizumi will leave Tokyo's Haneda airport aboard a government plane at 6:30 a.m. (21:30 GMT) Tuesday, the ministry said.
The Japanese premier is scheduled to leave Pyongyang at around 8 p.m. (1100 GMT) and return to Haneda airport at around 10:20 p.m.(13:20 GMT).
The schedule for Koizumi's talks with the DPRK leader Kim Jong Il is still being drawn up, it said.
Japanese senior government officials, including Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe, Deputy Foreign Minister Toshiyuki Takano, Director General of Asian and Oceanian Affairs Hitoshi Tanaka as well as Director General of the Treaties Bureau Shin Ebihara, will accompany Koizumi to Pyongyang, according to the ministry.
