Chinese President Jiang Zemin Wednesday met with Carly Fiorina, chairman and chief executive officer of the US-based Hewlett-Packard Co.
Jiang said that Sino-US relations have entered a stage of stable development. The two countries have made big progress in cooperation in trade, culture, science and technology, and other areas, bringing substantial benefits to both Chinese and American people.
Jiang hoped HP and more US companies to continue cooperating with China, participate in China's economic construction, and achieve common development with their Chinese partners through effective cooperation.
Fiorina briefed Jiang on the cooperation between HP and China's information industry. She said that after the merger with Compaq Computer Corp., HP will follow the established China development strategy, and increase investment in China.
