US, British Warplanes Attack Iraqi Radar System
US and British fighter jets attacked an Iraqi anti-aircraft radar system on Wednesday morning, the US Central Command said.

The Florida-based command said in a statement that the allied aircraft used precision-guided weapons in the strike against the radar system near Al Kut, about 160 kilometers southeast of Baghdad.

It said the attack was carried out in response to "Iraqi acts against coalition aircraft monitoring compliance" of no-fly zones over Iraq.

"Target battle damage assessment is ongoing," the command said in its statement.

The latest strike marked the fourth attack by US and British allied warplanes against Iraqi targets in the past five days.
