Than Shwe, Chairman of Myanmar's State Peace and Development Council, started the second leg of his China tour with a visit to the southwestern Sichuan province Thursday morning.
He began by meeting Zhang Xuezhong, secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China.
Than Shwe said he hoped his visit to the province could expand cooperation in the hydro-electricity sector between Myanmar and Sichuan.
He said he welcomed Sichuan entrepreneurs in Myanmar in the fields of education, medicine and sanitation.
In his six-day visit, he has been to Beijing and is scheduled to visit China's Yunnan Province which borders Myanmar.
