The Cambodian government has promised to pay quick compensation to Thailand for damage to its embassy caused by anti-Thai riots took place on Wednesday in PhnomPenh, according to a statement released by the Cambodian Foreign Ministry on Thursday evening.
The statement said, "Having assumed high responsibility for this event, the royal government of Cambodia decided to urgently establish an ad hoc commission to work with the Thai counterparts with the view to providing compensation, as a matter of urgency and without conditions, for the losses and damages to the building and property of the Thai Embassy and personnel."
The anti-Thai violent protesters, sparked by alleged comments of a Thai actress about the belongingness of Angkor Wat temple, entered Thai embassy in Phnom Penh Wednesday night and set it to fire.
