Blast Injures 11 People at Jakarta Airport
The number of the injured people increased to 11 in the bomb explosion at the Terminal 2 in the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta around 6:35 (local time) Sunday morning, a local police officer said.

The blast, which occurred behind the US-styled fast-food outlet KFC at the terminal, has damaged chairs and smashed some windows of the restaurant.

This is another possibly home-made bomb explosion within one week following the blast near the UN office building in Central Jakarta on Thursday morning, during which a bridge was damaged.

These two minor-powered blasts were apparently targeted at scaring people especially foreigners and causing panic in the city.

Indonesian Police Chief General Da'i Bachtiar issued a warning on Friday that there was a possibility of more bomb attacks following the blast near the UN office building.

He said many people could make a low explosive device similar to the one exploding on Thursday, making it very difficult for the security authorities to trace the criminal suspects.

He believed that the attackers have links to suspects in the Bali bombings on Oct. 12 last year, since several members of the terrorist group remained at large.
