Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), arrived in Buenos Aires Thursday for an official goodwill visit to Argentina.
In a written statement upon arrival at the airport, Li said China and Argentina have a long history of friendship and that he is here to promote understanding, deepen friendship and enhance cooperation.
"I am looking forward to exchanging views with leaders of the Argentine government and parliament on issues of common concern," he said.
He expressed the hope that bilateral exchanges and cooperation would continue to develop.
Li came here after winding up his trip to Cuba. After his visit to Argentina, he will go to New Zealand, the last leg of his three-nation tour.
