China and Mali should continue to maintain high-level exchanges for better bilateral ties, said Chinese Vice-President Zeng Qinghong in Beijing Wednesday.
Zeng spoke while meeting with Lassana Traore, minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation of Mali.
China and Mali have developed solid friendly relations since they established diplomatic ties some four decades ago, said Zeng, adding that the peoples of the two countries have maintained good friendship.
Zeng noted that China appreciates the Mali government's adherence to the one-China policy and support to China's reunification.
China's new leadership will, as always, value the friendly cooperation between the two countries, said Zeng.
Zeng stressed that China and Mali should continue their tradition of high-level exchanges to enhance mutual understanding and boost the bilateral ties to a higher level.
Traore extended his gratitude to Chinese government and people for their generous assistance to Mali in the long run.
The Mali government and people are satisfied with the friendly cooperation with China and hope such relationship will be further strengthened, said Traore.
Traore said Mali will continue to observe the one-China policy.
