Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi on Wednesday afternoon arrived in Vientiane, starting her three-day official visit to Laos.
The Chinese vice premier is expected to sign a package of 11 agreements on bilateral economic and trade cooperation with the Lao leaders during her stay in the country.
The cooperation projects include tens of millions of US dollars granted to the Lao government as aid and loans and bilateral cooperation projects in the fields of infrastructure construction, agriculture and chemical production.
Wu also brought a strong group of some 40 entrepreneurs with her.
She is expected to meet with Lao People Revolution Party President Khamtay Siphandone and Lao Prime Minister Boungang Vorachit.
Wu's visit to Laos is the first leg of her trip to Southeast Asian and South Asian countries comprising Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Maldives.
