China and the European Union (EU) arranged in Beijing Wednesday a high-level workshop on space cooperation, discussing joint programs such as the Galileo System, the European version of the global positioning system.
Chinese officials and experts from European research institutes discussed space policy, remote sensing and Earth observation, space science and exploration, satellite telecommunications and future cooperative regime between the two sides.
The workshop is part of the drive pushed by both China and the EU to promote their cooperation in science and technology.
