Wu proposed that parliaments of the two countries increase contact. He also expressed thanks and appreciation for the one-China policy of the Fijian government.
Qarase arrived in Beijing Monday for a six-day working visit to China, the second of the prime minister since 2002.
The Fijian prime minister said he believes his current visit toChina will further promote Fiji-China relations, which he described as good to peoples of the two countries.
Earlier on Tuesday, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao made a four-point proposal on strengthening China-Fiji relations in agriculture, forestry, fishing, tourism and other areas.
Aside from Beijing, Qarase will also visit Xi'an and Guangzhou cities.
