Fuji Photo Film Co, Ltd will pour US$30 million as the first investment in its Chinese headquarters in the Pudong New District of Shanghai in east China.
The new company, which is owned solely by Fuji, will focus on developing a digital camera project in Suzhou and the Xerox of Shanghai Ltd, which was purchased from US Xerox Corporation.
During a Wednesday meeting between Xu Kuangdi, mayor of Shanghai, and a delegation led by Minoru Ohnishi, president of Fuji Photo Film Co, Ltd, Ohnishi said that Fuji will use Shanghai as the center of its business in China.
Xu expressed hope at the meeting that Fuji brings more advanced technologies in the film industry to China.
Fuji has so far established four companies in Beijing and Suzhou, involving a total investment of over US$80 million.
