The just concluded International Economic and Trade Tourism Week in north China’s Shanxi Province successfully attracted foreign investment totaling US$330 million, it was reported.
According to the organizing committee, some 400 overseas investors from over 20 countries and regions attended the week-long fair, during which they signed documents on 62 cooperation projects, including 48 contracts.
Hong Kong alone signed several agreements with the province, involving more than US$69.2 million to boost the province’s tourism industry.
In addition, domestic investors also showed interest and signed agreements on 20 projects, totaling 1.39 billion yuan (US$167 million).
Sources with the organizing committee said that those projects are mainly about infrastructure construction, environmental protection and tourism.
