Skyworth Digital Holdings Ltd chairman Stephen Wong Wang Sang said the company has increased exports this year to 30 percent of total turnover so as to limit the impact of price competition in China.
Cited by the Hong Kong Economic Journal, Wong said he hopes exports will further grow to account for 50 percent of its total turnover in the next 3-5 years.
The Hong Kong Economic Times quoted Wong as saying that in the fiscal year ending March 2002, the company sold a total of 5.5 million televisions, up 40 percent, with flat screen televisions the driver of such growth.
Wong hopes that TV sales in the current fiscal year will grow another 27 percent to 7 million units.
