East China's Shandong Province held an investment inviting conference in HK Monday, and celebrities from both the political and economic circles in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) attended the meeting.
Governor of Shandong Province Zhang Gaoli said at the conference that the total investment by Hong Kong businesses in Shandong had amounted to US$9 billion by the end of last year, thus topping the list of the foreign funds in Shandong.
Zhang noted that the province had introduced over 100 key projects this time to seek for investment from Hong Kong and expressed the hope that substantial results would be achieved through consultations.
Hong Kong-Shandong Chamber of Commerce was set up Monday, with Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Legislative Councilor Lui Ming-wah elected the director.
