China Art & Craft Gallery is located near the crossroads of Fuxingmen, West Changan Street, Beijing. It is the first state level industrial art gallery in China, which was opened to the outside world on July 1990.
The architecture of the art and craft gallery combines both the traditional architecture style and the modern decoration art, which is filled with the nationality features. It is strewn at random like a flower in bud.
The gallery is composed of sequence hall, exhibition hall and treasure hall. The large scale copper embossment wall decoration embellished beneath the sequence hall, which represents the 5,000 years long history and the excellent tradition of China industrial art.
The exhibition hall gathers the essence of China industrial art in the contemporary era, its mainly varieties includes jade ware, ivory sculpture, wood and stone sculpture, ceramics, lacquer work, stitch work, drawn work, cloisonne, golden and silver luxury, floral incrustation, tin ware and bornite etc, which includes the masterpiece of the predecessors like the industrial art maters, specialists and professionals as well as a batch of the state level treasures that once won the state golden medal or international golden medal. Spectacle, Sweet-scented Flower, Screen Painted with the Rejoicing Four Seas, Hoop Handle of Flower Basket, are the national treasures that are rare in both present and past. The treasure hall gathers the most excellent industrial art treasures of China in the contemporary time. It is an elegant palace showing that gem of industrial art of Chinese nationality.
The gallery also set up art & craft work exhibiting & selling hall. It is used to sell all kinds of the high-grade craftworks, tourism remembrances and gifts which is for the purpose of meeting the purchasing demands of the guests.
