China Science & Technology Exhibition Hall is located in the northwest corner of Anhua Bridge of Beisanhuan in Beijing. It was officially opened in 1988. And it is the first integrative national science & technology museum in China. Its coverage is 7.1 hectares, while its total construction acreage is 66,000 square meters. Among which, the construction acreage of the hall area exceeds 53, 000 square meters.
As a national museum of science and technology, China Science and Technology is an important front for popular science education in China and a social welfare undertaking with important influence.
It has nearly 700 displaying items. "China Ancient Traditional Technology Exhibition" displays the Four Inventions in China ancient time and the ancient traditional technologies, such as ceramic, smelting and etc.
The "Modern Scientific Technology Exhibition" reveals visually the basic principles of disciplines through its lively, brand-new, and hand operated displaying items and demonstration equipment. In addition, there are displaying items concerning the large-scale
models in the sphere of the universe, astronomy, global physics and etc, such as the Fandegelafu's (pinyin) static generator, Yagebu's (pinyin) electric elevator, soap film, sound penetration mirror and so on.
The science & technology museum also set up a large-scale quaquversal curtain cinema, which is used to screen the scientific popularization films.
